Quick Reply Posting Options

Hey, so I've always been using the Quick Reply and I've noticed that it doesn't use the automatic preferences. I have my preferences set to always disables smilies, but when I post things like :) it comes up as Emoticon.

Is this the same for anyone else?

EDIT: It works sometimes... >.<

I'm not sure why it doesn't work... it's most likely a preferences thing; not a quick reply thing.
