New Server Map -- Geography Talk

OKAY. So. We'll be wanting a new seed and everything with this new map. Our aim is going to be townish; everybody builds in a generally close vicinity to one-another and we connect our buildings with roads and whatnot.

So. What kind of environment do we want to build the new town/city on? I don't think we should limit ourselves to plots of any kind; just build as we need to build. Personally, I want to have a big island (preferably jungle biome for the really green grass) that we deforest, flatten, put a short wall around, and build on. We could expand outwards using the material we flattened with and whatnot if more room is needed. Bright green jungle grass + sandstone/stone brick buildings makes for a very striking look. This seed might be cool for that.

Discuss any other visions you have for cities here and we'll pick the one most people like and turn it into a reality. ;D

For some reason I enjoy the idea of spawning on a big island, surrounded by other islands.

But it might be too mainstream for me, so i might be my rebel self and build an island next to the main island, idk. But i love the idea. My idea is to make it sort of dark ages themed towns. Those are always cool

I don't really see anything wrong with having a sub-island for creative mode building projects and such; it separates creative from survival AND let's people have freedom to build without restrictions and such. BUT they should be authorized to do so first, so we don't have 20 crappy creative projects.

Still don't know of any good seeds. I guess we can use the one in the OP or build our own out in the middle of the ocean? Or just scout out a good area from a random seed..
