| This is a guide on how to range hellhounds effectivly. Not only are our demonic little friends great gold charm droppers, they are known to drop level 3 clue scrolls and are great range exp! It is NOT recommended that you melee hellhounds as they have a high combat of 122 and hit pretty hard, so if you have fairly low combat skills ranging is your best choice. Recommended Stats:Range:60plus Prayer:43plus(For protect from melee just in case and protect from mage) Defence:55 plus Your Gear:Wearing-->Best-->Worse Weapon:Rune crossbow-->Karil's crossbow-->Magic shortbow Ammo:Mithril/Broad-tipped bolts-->Bolt racks-->Mithril/Steel arrows Shield:Book of balance-->Holy book-->Unholy book-->Dragon sq-->N/A Helm:Helm of neitiznot-->Karil's coif-->Void knight ranging helm-->Coif Body:D'hide body-->Karil's leather body--Void Knight top Legs:D'hide legs-->Karil's leatherskirt-->Void knight bottoms Boots:Snakeskin boots-->Dragon boots Gloves:D'hide vambs-->Barrows gloves Cape:Ava accumulator/attractor-->Fire cape-->Skillcape Amulet:Amulet of glory-->Amulet of fury-->Amulet of power Inventory:1 Falador teleport tab or runes(I have ancients on right now so no fally tele for me) 10 Lobsters 1 Ranging potion(3) 1 Dusty key or steel ring with a dusty key(DO NOT FORGET!!!!!!!) (NOTE: YOU MAY NEED AN ANTI-POISION IF YOUR CB LEVEL IS LOW FOR POISION SPIDERS!) How to get there:Turn on protect from mage at dragons, or bring an anti-fre shield if you desire. Usually theres too many people occupying the dragons for them to attack you anyways. Safespots:There are many safespots around and I'm sure youll find some just fine but heres a couple for reference. All possible drops:Good luck everyone hope you get a clue

| Great little guide. I like it 'cause I need to range hellhounds and I might actually use this... It's well written, the pictures are good, and you actually used advice that others gave you from the last guide. Well done. Awesome new avatar, btw. | |

| I find this guide more useful than THIS because A) Your guide already has roughly 1000 guides previously written about and, and B) Zach's guide shows a good way to train a skill that is accepted by many to be slow and boring. I wasn't even aware that ranging hellhounds was a good way to train range, SO yes, it was, indeed, necessary. Just my personal opinion on what's "necessary" and what isn't "necessary", but really.. who's to judge anyways? | |

| Meh,made the guide for hopes to get it on the site. Anyways,no one needs a guide to RANGE hellhounds, and it's not absolutely the best ranged experience. Why does no one write a guide for ranging hellhounds? It's because no one needs to know how to range or safespot hellhounds. Instead make a clue scroll guide completely and not just a guide to ranging hellhounds.
Just my 3 cents. | |

| Many people choose to range hell hounds actually as they have very low ranged defence and also have high hp, Although alot of people have "Guides" on the internet the only things they show you are the safespots. I of course didn't need the safe spots added but what if this was the first time someone ever went there. Sure you can range fire giants for rune scimmys and stuff but they dont drop clues, and also hellhounds drop charms and clues at an alarming rate, so making them awesome range exp and summoning exp and money. And Josh besides how would you know whats good ranging exp or not you have the 2nd lowest range level in the clan >.< Just the point is it's a good way to mix things up a bit if people are sick of the traditonal ranging methods. Also I plan on making many more guides similar to this to leave peoples options opened up. Look at the guide list now theres about 6 when there are thousands of monsters on runescape, Of course 80% of them being practically useless but I plan on making guides of the ones that are actually useful. In fact as soon as I get 70 range off of my HELLHOUNDS I'm gonna make an avansie guide | |

| Aviansies are nice,I will say. Also,I might be one of the lowest levels, but my knowledge of RuneScape is very strong. I'm saying that these hellhounds need no guide to ranging them, and if they really do need to safespot hellhounds the whole time maybe they should try a weaker monster. I can kill hellhounds easily with no safespot. I'm saying just make something whole. Kinda like you can make a charm guide and put hellhounds in the gold charm section since they drop it almost every time. Or you could make a clue scroll guide listing hellhounds and other great monsters for level 3 clue scrolls.

| And just something else,It is commonly accepted the Unholy book is better than the Holy book for range. | |

| Josh, thanks for all the constructive criticism. By all means, you have the right to express your opinion that a guide is “useless,” especially since you offered legitimate reasons for thinking that way. Likewise, Zach countered with reasons for believing that a guide for ranging hellhounds is necessary.
There are many ways to approach a particular subject—any way that is logical and easy to understand is welcome here.
Zach, great job. Good to see your enthusiasm for guide-making. | |
