Lockage of topics.

As many of you know,there are many outdated topics.

I thought about deleting them,but no,that just wasn't right.

But there have been many old topics being bumped by members,and the best thing to do to let new topics be seen is to lock the very old topics.

I don't understand. What does it mean by when "many old topics [are] being bumped by members?" So you're locking the very old topics, so that we can see the newer ones?

I'm not liking this lockage. What if we wanna post something?

I'm locking the posts that Are not truely needed anymore.

What is the use of locking them though? I don't see why we can't post things on old topics if we want to.

Everyone is posting on old topics,which is hiding new topics on the forums.

It is unessecary to post on old topics.

Example:

New topic posted

Old topic replied on,which is usually unnessecary on the topic.

New topic ignored on portal.

Oh, I see. You mean how when we post things on the old topics in the portal, it's bumped to the top, and the newer topics are being pushed down. I get it now. Okay, well I still think we should be able to post on older topics and all we have to do is scroll down a bit to see it, or we can just look at the scrolling "latest topics" bar on the side.

I'm thinking of a better solution,but I really don't think there is.

90 percent of bandits use the portal to see the newest topics,too. So I doubt they'll change.

Okay, Josh, the locking of topics is for when they go OFF-TOPIC, which happens a lot.

If there's an old topic that somebody posts on, but their post IS RELEVENT TO THE ORIGINAL TOPIC, then there is no problem with bumping it to ask a question or whatever about the topic.

yeah,I'm now just locking very old topics that are "inactivity" "I got haxxed"

I have locked quite a bit of suggestions,and some of the p2p division.

Topic lockage would no longer be necessary if we adjusted the way threads were displayed.
